PSYCONOMIST
Transform Your Decisions, Transform Your Life
Transform Your Decisions, Transform Your Life
Psyconomist is about learning how to think and decide with clarity.
It is built on the belief that better choices are not a matter of talent or luck, but of method.
I am Shahriar Akhavan Hezaveh, a researcher in behavioral economics and psychology, and an entrepreneur who has spent years turning scientific ideas about decision-making into tools that actually work in daily life. My work sits at the intersection of research and practice: how people reason, plan, and adapt when the world is uncertain and complex.
Here, you will find methods that help you organize your thinking, evaluate options, and move from hesitation to action. Some are inspired by academic insights, others by lessons learned while building companies. All are designed to make decision-making more structured, more reflective, and more effective.
Psyconomist is not about motivation or productivity hacks. It is about cultivating good judgment, understanding how your mind works, and developing habits that make your choices stronger over time.
If you value clear thinking, practical frameworks, and the craft of making sound decisions, this is your space.
I study how people think, decide, and adapt when the world around them is complex. My work sits where psychology meets economics, and where theory meets practice.
I hold a PhD in Quantitative Psychology and Economics from the University of Warsaw, where my research focuses on bounded rationality, decision strategies, and experimental economics. Before that, I completed a master’s degree in Economics and Finance in France through a joint program with the CNRS at the GATE research group in Lyon–Saint-Étienne, under the supervision of a professor from Panthéon-Sorbonne University.
My academic journey has been shaped by places and people who think deeply about how humans make choices. I have taken part in programs such as the Summer Institute on Bounded Rationality at the Max Planck Institute and the Complexity Interactive course at the Santa Fe Institute. Each experience has expanded my understanding of how decisions emerge, evolve, and interact with uncertainty.
Outside academia, I have built and managed international ventures in the field of personal care and functional nutrition. Running businesses in unpredictable markets has taught me more about decision-making than any textbook could. It keeps my ideas honest, my methods grounded, and my understanding of risk real.
My approach combines research with experience. I believe in growing stronger through uncertainty, allowing systems to evolve organically, and translating complex ideas into tools that anyone can apply.
Through my work as a decision coach, I help individuals and teams build methods for thinking clearly, acting deliberately, and learning from the feedback that reality gives them.
